The cat prolonged his stay,

Stirred his sleep,

Kept the heart awake.

 

Snuggled with love,

She curled in his legs,

Until she knew.

 

She walked the house,

Calling with paws on the floor,

Looking for where he went.

 

She returned to the bed,

Where she slept and he laid,

She waited until she knew,
